- The first two segments felt like I was watching the first couple of set-up scenes in a movie. That's not a bad thing. That means the setting was set well, segs were too short to do anything substantial to a storyline but they introduce characters well and lets me know to watch for them later on in the show. Excellent stuff.
- Also, Daniel Dream retired Madman Szalinski. That's a thing that happened once.
- There's a reason Crash has the Tag belts. This segment is one of them. I also have prior experience with the Masters, so part of me knows what's coming and I still eat it up like it was the first time seeing them.
- This first match reeks of old 80's NWA and I want more. Fuck yes.
- I want to know how Diamond Casino handles cheaters.
- Whoever wrote "Out Of Line" you deserve a star. You furthered a story and built characters in less than 300 words. Most people take twice that just to write out their first paragraph describing the scene.
- Same applies to "Not The Son Of God." Get in, get it done, get out, and don't waste 2000 words cutting a boring ass promo. This also makes it more special when someone does a longer segment, but it also sets the bar higher. If you're gonna write a segment longer than a few hundred words, it better be good.
- I will not review my own ad segment. However, I will drop
this link to the BCNA Landing Page if anyone is interested in seeing what we are all about.
- "The Flames" continues what I've said about every segment up to this point: perfect length, does what it needs to do, and doesn't make me lose interest. It actually raises it a little bit, to see what this character does in the ring. And that's the main goal of any segment: make me want to see you in a wrestling match. If you did that, you win.
- Well damn. Big Aug don't need no segment to get over. He just needs to keep doing that finish of his. Excellent squash match!
- I hate to parrot the same shit, but I keep having the same thoughts about these segments: I love how they're compact and still deliver a ton of character development. I'm not getting a ton of story development, but I can tell it's being set up. Right now, the focus is probably on establishing characters to a new audience. And you all are doing this very well.
- Yes even you Scoot. Good seg my man.
- A small mix-up there, this Big Aug segment references being placed before his match. That explains why I was like "oh, he don't need a seg to get over." This was the seg, I suppose. Regardless, this segment went a little bit longer than the others before it but still kept to the important stuff. It let you know who Big Aug is, and why you shouln;t fear him. He seems like a big teddy bear. But then you combine this with the match and you see the dynamic. Big Aug might be my favorite character so far in GLOBAL.
- This match feels so basic and empty compared to the first two, probably due to the dialogue of the people inside the ring. But not everyone is a shit talker, and occasinally they just want to shut up and wrestle. Amber Lee has a good victory under her belt, and can choose when and where she opens up on the microphone or in a backstage segment. Good stuff.
- The streak of good short but character depth packed segments continues.
- Pedro drops one a little bit longer, but still keeps it going: only this time, he's given us something specific to watch for in the future. Don't sleep on my little bro. This dude knows how to write a good story and pace it out.
- I will not review a segment I was involved in. I'll just echo what I said before about segment length and content within. Also, once I'm fully retired in a couple months, Pedro won't have to worry about my stuff on top of his and he'll write even better segments.
- Pierson vs Public was another great match, you've definitely nailed the studio show feel.
- Yeah but can I use it to wash my balls?
- Another couple of great seg WAIT WHAT THE FUCK BIANCA DAVIS IS HERE (SERIOUSLY THANK YOU FOR NOT WRITING A 3000 WORD PROMO TO DEBUT) (fuck i left caps lock on...you try writing feedback at eight in the morning while smoking a blunt)
- "You Never Forget Your First" made me laugh. Bit longer than average segment, but that's not a problem since it was entertaining and again gave us an introduction to characters that should make us care about them. Good stuff.
- Okay, so Bianca Davis only wrote a 1000 word promo to debut. But the short little set-up for this made it make sense. You kept it short, you got your point across, and now I want to see you get your ass kicked. This is how top level heels act. Good good stuff.
- I absolutely loved this match for the ending. Far too many people in this hobby are unwilling to take a loss to further a story.
- I've seen Michael B. Patterson's drunk Tweets. I'm not voting for a man who puts ketchup on scrambled eggs.
- I don't know what's going on in "Can We?" but it was funny and that's good enough for me.
- This match was great, turning from a entertainment-heavy style to a traditional wrestling match. While I like Big Aug, I have to admit, this is my match of the night so far.
- We have reached the point in the show where segments can be slightly longer, as the focus switches from "who" to "what". We know who's in the story, now we need to know what the story is.
- Another match that leans back to the in-ring action and not the entertainment factor. A stiff tag team match. Just the way I like it. The action didn't get slow, things happened at the right pace, and we weren't distracted by stuff happening outside of the ring. Good good stuff.
- Great build to the main event. Man, y'all are really doing a hell of a job of keeping the viewer tuned in for the whole show...it's almost like this is written to be a television show or something!
- One final segment to let us know "hey, watch the next show too."
- Now THAT was a main event! The build throughout the show helped make it even more impactful. In the end, I really did feel like I watched some old NWA. Good good stuff.
- Oh, never mind, THIS is the final "tune in next episode" segment. Talk about a cliffhanger. You win. I'll clear my schedule for the 7th.
Overall:
We got a lot of different writers who do a lot of different writing styles. Somehow, they all blended together into one of the most complete and cohesive shows I've ever seen in e-fedding. That is a testament to everyone here, from the people putting the show together to the people writing their stuff to contribute to it. Whatever y'all are doing, keep doing it. It's working. Well.
