BACKSTORY:
In 1525 the jester was presented to the king of England by Richard Fermor, a merchant of the Staple at Calais. He brought The jester across to Greenwich by boat in 1525 to meet with King Henry VIII, under whom he remained in employ until the King's untimely death.
