Interested in Screenwriting?

Post by Jerry David »

I've been doing a bit of research today so I can take (finally) my first steps in to screenwriting, and came across the following websites, mostly for our UK members but some relevant overseas too. If it's any help to anyone, great:

http://scriptwritersandco.com/events.html - Regular themed short 5-6 page long script submissions. The current theme is "Festive Break". They also have an annual festival.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/oppor ... /writenow/ - novel submissions for Penguin in conjunction with the BBC. At the moment they're looking for 1000 words initially w/ synopsis but you need to be from certain sections of the UK demographic (i.e., under-represented sections of society)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/oppor ... edy-guide/ - You can write, record and submit 1 x sketch per 3 months and win a small monetary prize, with your video going out to over 150k people on socials.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/opportunities/type/ - 2-5 page "flash" screenwriting submissions accepted, open all year round.

https://filmfreeway.com/ - Loads of various opportunities, worldwide, can be found here.

https://www.screenskills.com/ - Loads of free training
