Strengths: Technique – A terrific technician, there’s no question what Darren Best does…best.
Ring awareness – Knows where he is most of the time, and uses that to his advantage.
Composure – A composed wrestler for the most part, who never gets too greedy or jumpy.
Weaknesses: Concussions – A few massive head injuries, and this is a glaring chink in Darren’s armor.
Unpredictability – The worst losses of Darren’s career have come up against someone he can’t always predict. He’s a textbook wrestler himself and does well against other textbook opponents.
The Big Occasion – Darren has had some fine victories, but has struggled to get the job done when it really, really mattered. A mental block? Too much pressure? Time will tell.
Double-Edged Sword: His gameplan – A solid two-thronged approach, which works very well – most of the time. A great Plan A and B, but Best could be accused of not having a Plan C or D.
