Board of Directors
Giovanni Ferrari - The President and CEO of GLOBAL. A young, ambitious and driven agent for GLOBAL Studios, Giovanni was on the cusp of being promoted as it was when GLOBAL decided to expand into the world of wrestling, a field Ferrari is a lifelong fan of and one in which he has some friends. Publicly, Giovanni comes across as media-friendly, eloquent and respectful. Behind closed doors, that isn’t always the case…
Oliver Smith – Executive Vice-President, being put out to pasture by GLOBAL Studios, and he knows it. The 62-year-old may have a plush title, but he is unhappy to be involved in wrestling and rather indifferent to the role, only occasionally offering some resistance to Giovanni whenever he feels like it. The only wrestler he recognizes is…
Ray Young – The 19-time World champion and one of the most famous wrestlers of any era. He has been brought in to lend a voice to board meetings as the only real expert in the industry, and isn’t shy in voicing his opinion, which both pleases and grates on Giovanni, who respects the wrestler greatly, but also feels Young is living in the past.
Jarrod Cruz - One of Giovanni’s closest friends, and rumor has it, that connection alone is why he is Senior Vice President in GLOBAL. Enthusiastic, for sure, but was not pegged for promotion within the studios and it’s not sure whether Ferrari fought to get him on board, or he was happily reassigned. ALWAYS supports Giovanni’s decisions and is a young ally in a boardroom full of ‘old farts.’
Stanley Jones – Another grey-haired, out-of-touch executive who has been redistributed to GLOBAL. A hell of a hand back in the day, but that day has gone and it may prove difficult to teach this old dog new tricks.
Adam Hatt – He refuses to retire or die. 90 years old, he has some wonderful tales from Hollywood’s past and contributes very little to the meetings. It seems his main purpose is to exchange stories with Ray Young, drink a little whisky and shrug his shoulders when asked for his opinion.
Referees
Barry Snider – This former police officer is very strict and matter of fact when it comes to ruling over the ring. He is tall and large, making him a physical presence and not just a voice inside the squared circle. Barry calls it down the middle, does not favor anyone and has years of experience. Put it all together and that’s why he is GLOBAL’S head referee.
Duncan Sullivan – A legendary heel from a bygone era, Duncan eventually came over to ‘the good side’ and became a referee a decade ago. Due to his experience in the ring and expertise in the dark arts, Sullivan is a well-respected referee by peers and wrestlers alike. Similar to Snider, he favors no one and very, very little gets past him. He’s like the former hustler the casinos to run surveillance.
Shane Staggs – Another former police officer who worked with Snider and left the force due to questionable circumstances, allegedly because of gambling debts. A good referee for the most part, but rumors persist that he can be influenced and biased, affecting his performance here and there. Watch out for a faster count in those situations.
Gabrielle Harris – With just 2 years of experience to her name, Gabrielle is still learning. An enthusiastic yet understated referee, she tends to keep her distance, but can stand up for herself, so don’t flagrantly break the rules. A slower count and slowness to get into position may get her into trouble at times.
Aaron Powell – At 6’8, he might be wrestling’s tallest referee. A powerhouse of a man, Powell is just starting out as an official and lacks experience, but his size and strength alone make him the go-to referee for gimmick matches that may get out of hand.
Commentators
Lucas Quinn - Lucas was a highly-rated prospect with Jerry Watkins's UWE, winning their inaugural wrestling reality show 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' and earning a lucrative guaranteed 5-year deal. Unfortunately, 3 years into said deal, he suffered a career-ending neck injury and saw the rest of his contract out. They brought him back as a mentor and trainer to younger talent, and when forced to close their doors, GLOBAL moved quickly to ask the well-liked and velvet-voiced former wrestler to come and work for them, to which he said 'yes' immediately. A naturally knowledgable guy who knows the names of moves and tries to tie everything together from story to strategy and first-hand experience in the ring.
Mark ‘The Mark’ Deltzer – A fan from the age of three, and it shows. Possesses incredible knowledge and is more than capable of being the main commentator but serves a different purpose with his childlike enthusiasm and calling it more like a viewer at home. Specializes in putting people right and calling Kid Chameleon matches.
Allie Reece – Allie is inquisitive and never shows up without having done her homework. Got into wrestling as a teenager, unlike her colleagues, but asks questions that sometimes leave even Brandon and Mark dumbfounded. Focuses more on people’s personal motivations and goals than her colleagues and often tries to add that to Brandon’s in-ring and match-oriented observations. Tends to clash with Mark at least once every match, even if they get on.
Interviewers
Tobias Bellamy - https://global-wrestling.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24
Steve Blaine – A solid interviewer who asks the right questions and doesn't play favorites when he interviews. He does tend to get easily annoyed when heels act like heels. Overall though, Blaine’s a top-tier announcer that always delivers the goods.
The Informer - At university, he found his real love - he wanted to be an investigative journalist. Moving to a national newspaper, he got his break by working crime before gradually easing his way into more and more undercover work. Thereafter, he founded hisown weekly newspaper, mixing tabloid and broadsheet journalism in the form of his online baby, aptly named... The Informer.
The Bro – An aspiring writer, the black-haired New Yorker likes to wind people up, ask tough questions off the bat and say ‘bro’ a lot, hence the name.
Ring Announcers
'Downtown' Jason Brown - GLOBAL'S regular ring announcer, and someone who loves amping the crowd up with his exaggerated pronunciation and intonation. Always immaculately decked out, a real snappy dresser and a smile for everyone, he is a little jealous he doesn't do main events, but at the same time, is also starstruck by...
MAIN EVENTS ONLY: Marcus Anthony Newman - An iconic boxing announcer the world over, he gets called in for Domination and PPV main events and gets paid a pretty penny for 'legitimizing' their product - or so it is said. Will give a long, elaborate introduction of wrestlers on their way to the ring and reiterate that when they're in the ring.
Experts
Michael Mercer – A world-class technical wrestler who’s currently out with injury. Keen to tie him down, GLOBAL have offered him a deal anyway, and brought him in to lend his insight. Some feel this could be an excellent scouting mission for the student of the game. Favours fellow technicians to a degree but respects every style and gives everyone credit in some form or another.
Jackie James – A very popular babyface in the 80s and 90s, Jackie’s most famous feud came with Jimmy Mann, and while there’s great respect, they still occasionally jab each other. Jackie got the better of it in the end, feud wise, and trained Michael Mercer. Not as up on modern wrestling as Michael Mercer, he still provides sound insight, examples and favors good guys while still giving heels their due.
Jimmy Mann – The antagonist to the other two. A terrific heel with wrestlers for sons, he gets on with both Mercer and James, but loves playing devil’s advocate and winding them up. Occasionally commentates, too. A huge cheater in the ring, he has no problems with faces or heels indulging in the dark arts and will criticize people for going too far – or not far enough – in the ring.
Frank Rich – The head of The Rich Family. A former heel and World champion, having beaten Ray Young, he errs on the face side more these days, but still has his moments. Has a great relationship with Jimmy Mann, though they also get into it from time to time, with Frank falling on the face side of the divide in those moments.
Brandon Garrick – A phenomenal wrestler and FOURTH-generation star, who has never officially announced his retirement, and can also do commentary. A true historian, master at breaking down a match in more ways than one, and neutral in his commentary. In truth, he’s loved by everyone for his class in the ring, at the table and how he conducts himself backstage. Polite to everyone – until he’s not, but it takes a lot for him to reach that point.
