Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
OK, here we go.
Before we begin, I actually submitted a segment to go on before the one that opens this show. I guess it got lost in the aether. Nothing major, just Truth getting out of jail, but I liked the way it turned out. Oh well.
INTERSECTION OF TRUTH AND DREAM: Short and to the point, just something to work off last show's main event and set up the Main here.
HYSTERIA - More Naked Man following Doritos portals through scenes of carnage. Still wondering where this is going.
OBJECTION OVERRULED: Setting up the following match, while working off The Players' recent storylines. Hopefully, I haven't butchered anything.
ROXX VS PLAYERS: I still resent Keegan for writing out Kid Chameleon's SCW app the way it did. Anyway, it certainly is a Trouble Roxx match...
MATAREMOS: First, the dashed prospect of The Best Crusaders, and then X apparently being the target in a hit? Colour me interested. The segment runs a little overlong, though, and might have been better as two separate segments - though admittedly, that would take away the shock value of X turning around into a punch. Also, get well soon, Alfie, lad.
WHAT COMES AROUND...: If this is not leading somewhere, I'm going to be pissed that we have lost two teams with potential to be the next big thing, and most importantly, who AREN'T handled by me.
JD VS ALF: THE STREAK CONTINUES!!! #Undefeated4Life
JOIN OR DIE I: Yup. Figures that's what happened. Jester wasn't just going to take 'No' for an answer.
AMBUSH: I had to come up with this segment off directions from Shae and Courtney about a storyline Keegan hadn't discussed with me beforehand, because we were too focused on Truth and Roxx. Hopefully, I've not let anyone down. PS: Courtney wrote the initial part, I just wrapped things up after she found herself unavailable and unable to end it in time. So credit to her as well, for setting the scene quite nicely.
PLAYERS PLAYING THE GAME: Good segment, setting up something I totally forgot would happen, or I would have had it play a part in the Main Event. Missed opportunity there. Oops.
WRESTLETRONIC DEBUT: Short but sweet comedy lucha match which does what it's meant to do - set up this newcomer as a threat. I like him already, by the way - not that that's a surprise to anybody who has seen any of my characters, or read previous feedback threads.
A DIRECT MESSAGE: Short and sweet promo which advances this feud ahead of Keegan's return. Typical Brian piece, which is not a bad thing in any way, shape or form.
AN EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT: What is this, 'write off the future stars' week or something? Don't you guys dare leave me as the entire roster, you hear me?
THE ANGEL CORPS VS METAL MILITIA/AFTERMATH & REGRET: I actually volunteered the Militia for this, but there was some confusion about who would write this match, as Shae was under the impression I would, and I was under the impression he would. In the end, he did a fantastic job character-wise and told a great story. But. There are a distracting amount of typos in this write-up. Otherwise, solid match.
MAKING AMENDS: *insert GIF of Daniel Bryan pointing at the air here* Welcome back, dude.
EVERY SIX SECONDS: This could have been a little further removed from the previous segment, to be honest. Anyway, this is something I had left off the previous Domination, and which has existed in my head, in almost this exact form, for about a month to six weeks. Hope everyone enjoys it.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMP: The opposite of that earlier segment, as it actually plays INTO some of what happens in the Main Event, entirely by accident. Solid if subdued promo by the World Champion, as always.
THERE'S THE DEVIL...: Benedict plotting and scheming while Daniel tries to be his own man. Good segment. I wonder if this was planned all along, or was born from feedback in past shows.
DEATH DO US PART: More Doritos and Death stuff. He is really focusing on this lady, for some reason.
MAIN EVENT: Ooof. Okay. Not ENTIRELY happy with this match, which I left quite late. I hemmed and hawed over the finish, until it suddenly came to me. I wish I had involved Darring in the finish more. Hopefully, I made these two justice. (PS Shae, Truth is the Main Event again. I know you're gonna love that...)
FINAL THOUGHTS: Another slight show, with the feeling of a good episode of RAW - hot opener followed by a couple of throwaway matches, a match which could have been good but turns into an angle, and a Main Event that's more about characters and storyline than moves. A breezy read, which I appreciate, but still, another vaguely spinny-wheely mid-arc show. Also, what's with all the roster decimation going around?
GETTING OFF EASY: Oh, HERE it is. My bad for saying it was a 'pre-credits' segment. I was thinking of pre OPENING credits, not pre END credits. Oh, well.
PEDRO'S RATING: Another Chris Hopper Special - 6/10. An average/standard show, with more happening than the last one, but a lot less happening than previous GLOBAL shows.
Match of the night: Of the ones I did not write, definitely the six-man tag, as it was the only non-squash.
Segment of the night: Crusader getting attacked after trying to recruit Darren Best as a partner.
Feud of the night: There wasn't really an overarching one, but FTK vs Sweaty Bros did a lot with their very short segment.
Line of the night: None that stand out in particular.

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
BEST MATCH: John J. Truth vs Daniel Dream.
I'm obviously biased but a very great main event. Daniel looked impressed with a nice sequence of signatures, Truth looked strong in defeat by having the upperhand before being disqualified, the presence of Sean Darring is scene, the presence of Players and Border Control is felt. Benedict Beel Zebub got waved off, adding a bit of tension.
Trouble Roxx have a fast-paced match which brings the fun as always against a more focused Players, a distraction by Daniel Dream couldn't save his team but I'm sure they'll be back in the win column soon enough.
The debut of Wrestletronic, who I already love. He reminds me of the brief time that Carnivore was 'DJ Carnivore', but brings excitement with a dancing gimmick. Good match as well.
BEST SEGMENT: Every Six Seconds
Objection Overruled is a nice segment that sets up the first match of the night.
Join, or Die. A potential team up with Jerry David and the Jester?... I'm....interested.
Players Playing the Game. Benedict Beel Zebub pulling the strings and sends the Players to make veiled threats against Darring. I think Darring vs Daniel Dream and the Players is probably going to be the most interesting angle for a while.
Every Six Seconds. Domination 12 has another debut with Officer Miranda Wright, I will definitely be keeping an eye on her. First impressions are important because you typically only get one and Officer Miranda Wright definitely impressed.
BEST ANGLE: Benedict Beel Zebub pulling all the strings.
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT:
"Now…I KNOW you two are not implying Daniel Dream is untrustworthy…!"
"No, Lucas. We’re not implying it. We’re SAYING it."
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: I felt this show was great, couldn't pick out anything to specifically complain about so I guess typos in general but nothing that ruined my enjoyment of the segment or match.

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
THE INTERSECTION OF TRUTH AND DREAM: I thought Dream was feuding for the world title, so IDK why we keep seeing him feud with Truth. World title now feels a side-angle.
IT CAUSES HYSTERIA, DOESN'T IT?: What is this all about? Who knows? Great mystery is afoot!
OBJECTION OVERRULED: Sets up the match and avoids lengthy entrances, which personally I find a plus lol.
Tag title match: Outcome was never in doubt.
MATAREMOS POR FAMA Y FORTUNA: RIP Alfie. A hit - something a bit different, and enjoyable, but I also agree with Pedro here, a little long for my own personal taste. That said, a lot of ground was covered, so it was necessary.
WHAT GOES AROUND...: Another ending here. Fair enough. Well written.
JERRY DAVIS Vs. ALF ALFERSON: Is that 5-0? 6-0? I've lost count. Alf is unbeatable and at this point a front runner for a world title shot at the PPV.
JOIN, OR DIE (I): Written by a published author recently compared to Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams and The Fraggles.
AMBUSH: Sets up a match. Went on a bit long. Valorie seems depressed - maybe we could see her do a Kane style comedy therapy angle to cheer her up?
PLAYERS PLAYING THE GAME: Darring is in a grumpy old man today. Art imitates life. Lol.
A DIRECT MESSAGE: The Rich Family are a bunch of pussies! Good segment, keeps things ticking in Keegan's absence.
AN EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Alfie written out for a while. No worries. Good segment - does what it needs to do.
AFTERMATH & REGRET: Depressing. Not sure what it achieves, either.
MAKING AMENDS: Seth is immediately back to being Seth. Quirky and entertaining, and picking up a feud right where it left off without missing a beat. Segment of the night for me.
EVERY SIX SECONDS: What is Elysian? Am I supposed to have heard of it & missed it? This segment went on a bit tbh and I'm sure the woman could have been given a name at some point. Half the time I wasn't sure who was doing what, or why. It was a bit lost on me this one, sorry.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMP: Darring is more intense this week, and I like it. Art imitating art again in this segment, if you ask me. Sets up next shows title defense, pushes the angle along in a smart way, and was well written. 5-stars.
THERE'S THE DEVIL. THEN THERE'S BEEL ZEBUB: Two worlds are starting to collide. The stakes need raising here, and a focus on the title is needed rather than the Truth stuff.
GETTING OFF EASY: Should have been the opener. I'll move it.

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
Match of the night: Gotta give it to Trouble Roxx vs. The Players. I've tried to go back and read a little and no offense to the Master Sisters, but Trouble Roxx feel like big personalities and therefore, bigger deals with the titles. Seeing the Tag Titles defended regularly has been cool and makes a great babyface champions. Truth/Dream was decent. Normally not a fan of DQ endings especially where Daniel Dream should be getting wins. Truth seems like he's also on a rocketship to the top fairly quickly and not just because he's a conspiracy nut, haha.
Segment of the night: I laughed at FTK being pricks in their seg. I feel like them v. Trouble Roxx could be a great pairing and I hope it may be going that way for a big Tag Title feud. Good segs through the night with Darring and Dream leading to the main event as well.
Feud of the night: Darring/Dream. This has been one of the longer-built programs in GLOBAL since nearly the beginning. I'm curious if Truth will have a part to play given he was protected a bit by the DQ.
Line of the night: I didn't see one that really stuck out as far as jumping off the page, but generally liked the setup to the main.

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
Not my full review as I am swamped in general right now, and I have to fight to find time to fit my segments in right now, but I wanted to get something up.
Another quick and easy read. This seems to be the theme as of late with the shows.
The Stories that are currently running are making progress. That is the important part—a few solid matches - with the Tag Titles and Main Event. I agree. I think Roxx is doing more with the tag titles than Masters, which is excellent.
Good to see a new debut... Global could use a new character, and it's a welcome return by Seth!
Alf is the man in GLOBAL! He should be main eventing.
Solid performances by X, Truth, and Roxx.
I am not sure what the next PPV is called. Has it been released yet? We are already starting to understand what that show looks like.
Onwards ...

Match of the Night: Trouble Roxx vs. The Players. Liked the momentum shifts a lot. I tend to prefer the midcard matches over the main events this arc, it seems.
Segment of the Night: MAKING AMENDS. Awesome reintroduction to two characters that this fed has been sorely missing. Perfect way of getting them back in action. Welcome back, Seth!
Feud of the Night: Daniel Dream vs. Everyone who breathes. Dream is almost an MJF figure at this point. Not as much of an asshole, of course (Aleczander is probably closest to him in terms of personality), but so many people hate him on both sides now that he's beyond just a heel.
Line of the Night: Aleczander accidentally revealing that he'd been out filming a TV pilot. Really funny and clever way of explaining his absence.
Overall Thoughts: Nothing super emotionally involving and there were a few segments I found clunky or a bit hard to follow, but some really fun stuff here. Felt like a pretty solid episode of... mid 00s Smackdown, I'd say. Good throughline throughout the show. Flowed fairly well overall. Enjoying the in universe explanations for real life events, which has always been something I've enjoyed about pro wrestling. (As you can probably see from my segments lol) I also noticed stakes being ramped up a little bit this week, which is good, but I'd like to see them ramped up even more for the coming shows. Solid show overall!

BEST MATCH: Trouble Roxx vs The Players
BEST SEGMENT: The Intersection of Truth and Dream
BEST ANGLE: John J Truth/Daniel Dream
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT: “You have to give Truth this – the man has balls of steel, getting in Powell’s face like that. Makes you wonder why he always needs to attack everyone from behind, if he’s brave enough to do THAT…!” (FACTS)
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: I can’t think of any, as per usual

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
Actually typing this one (Don't get used to that) since a LOT of this is going to be either things I already said for the storyline/character last week, or I will be talking about the entire angle instead of Arc by Arc. (Note, I use caps for emphasis LIKE THIS. Uless I use an exclamation mark, it is not me yelling)
Anyway, starting off:
Daniel Dream stuff: Once again I see glimmers of potential drowned out by actions that DO NOT MAKE SENSE. I've spoken at nauseum about how basically everything around him and Truth is a mess of contradicting and self-sabotaing actions, so I won't go too much into that here. Recruiting The Players makes sense. Build's him an army, gets people on his side... The Players threatening Darring though...
Okay. One question: What do they actually want Darring to DO? Because that is the point of intimidation. To get someone to not do something you don't want them doing.
Do they want Darring to not fight Dream?
...Well, no, that can't be it, even if we HADN'T established already that Dream wants to be the guy to beat Darring, Darring's the CHAMPION. If Darring doesn't fight, Dream doesn't get his title match.
Do they want to soften up Darring?
Then don't bother with threats! Just attack him! Do what that one guy did to Crusader X and hit him in the knee with a pipe wrench! Why are you wasting time talking trash?
Then we have the Beelzebul stuff which tries to paint it as HE'S the master manipulator and Dream is his puppet, except...
He hasn't done anything. DREAM has been the one gathering people and making deals. You cannot just tell me: "It was Beelzebub all along." and expect me to just buy it. No amount of Diabolic imagery is going to fix the fact that Dream's (or Beelzebul's) actions do not add up.
This is especially dissapointing since this episode was apparently meant to clear up a lot of questions, and it just raises MORE.
Trouble Roxx vs. The Players: MATCH OF THE NIGHT. Trouble Roxx have needed a good threat for a few weeks and they got it here. An intense opening. A high octane match and two REALLY good spots from Roxxie. I can nitpick some lines from commentary, but this was a solid outing.
X and Alfie's attackers: A genuinely good mystery. And a well done attack scene.
What Goes Around: As I've said before, I do not enjoy Tony Sweat's stuff, so I skip over anything involving-
...Hold on one sec.
[Check's notes...]
This was an extremely well done segment and I am finding myself interested in an angle that involves Tony Sweat. BEST ANGLE. I call witchcraft.
Wrestletronic Debut: I like the character. It surprised me how much offense Chet Marx got.
A Direct Message: Don't have a lot to say, but I AM curious about what may come next show.
Angel Corps vs. Metal Militia: Due to some communication mixup, I ended up writing this last minute. Surprised by how much fun it ended up being to write. Angel is a character I find myself enjoying writing in the ring.
Return of Seth's Characters: Honestly, it's just nice to see them getting acknowledgement. LINE OF THE NIGHT goes to: “Wait… you ghosted us… for a TV show?”
Every Six Seconds: An effective debut, though I was unsure if Saul and the attcker were meant to be fighting or just talking.
A Message From The Champ: BEST SEGMENT. Thank you Sean for making the point that Dream's reruitment drive is just a distraction at this point.
Jerry David vs. The Jester / The Naked Man angles: Don't feel I can really add anything I didn't already say last show.
Doritos Man Segment: I find myself losing interst as it is feelin like one crazy segment after another, but they don't actually GO anywhere.
Main Event: As I said last week, Truth in the ring does not interest me. He is an amateur among professionals. And the fact that he IS doing so well isn't making Truth look strong, it's making his opponents look weaker.
Sean Darring is THE world champion.
Daniel Dream beat Alex Reyn clean, and at the risk of sounding egotistical, Reyn was a VERY dominant and dangerous fighter.
They should NOT be having this much issue against an out of shape, untrained man in his 40's. I don't have an issue with Truth surprising them with unexpected offense. Hell, I did that with Angel v Valorie. But I ALSO had Val beat Angel in under five minutes to show the gap between them.
At some point, it should be made clear that Dream and Darring are FAR beyond Truth's level. But so far, that hasn't happened.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: A good show overall, but the Main Event angle is a mess. At this point, it should et a hard cut. Cut out everything involving Truth, Border Control, The Players, Beelzebub. ALL of that. They are the Debra in this Rock/Austin X-7 feud. Put them aside and make this about Dream and Darring.
Anyway, starting off:

Re: Domination 12 - Feedback Thread
Talking WHILE fighting. Think anime.I was unsure if Saul and the attcker were meant to be fighting or just talking.
