Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
A LESSON IN REALITY: Sean Darring inspires mass shooters. You heard it here first, folks. #CancelDarring. Also, wrestlers are apparently supernatural entities? What is this, Underworld? Oh, it's Reyn. OF COURSE it's Reyn. Wait, so HE's a vampire? What the heck is this segment? If this was a novel or film, Tobias would die right here. Anyway, what a weird-ass opener. Beautifully written, though.
NOW YOU'RE IN NEW YORK - The streets will make you feel brand new, the lights will inspire you. Also, ECW! ECW! ECW!
PROTECTING THE TRUTH - Chris Hopper, consider yourself popped.
READY PLAYER ONE - Setting up a match I had to push back one show due to a shorter deadline. There's WORSE ways to set up a match, I reckon...
WHAT IS NORMAL, ANYWAY? - Why wasn't X like this all along?! Some surprising stuff from Amber here, as well. And just as I am thinking this segment should have ended five lines of dialogue ago...THAT happens, and I see why it kept on going. Fantastic work from all involved here, and if this is going to be X going forward, I think I'll have to get off his case pretty sharpish.
CRUSADER/ALFIE VS AMBER/BEST - Stop me if you've heard this one: three friends and a master manipulator get into a wrestling ring... This is the Crusader X show, as he plays everyone like a fiddle (including the audience) and they have no choice but to play along, well done. In-ring action is as entertaining as you would expect from a face vs face match involving these four wrestlers, but it's the psychology and character work that shine here. The right team wins, and ooooh, some developments from Best as well. Outstanding work from all involved here, in this segment as well as the previous one.
GREEN TEA: Is better than black tea. #HotTake
GLOBAL CHALLENGE: Short, sweet and to the point, as usual from Darring. Great promo.
AN OPEN CHALLENGE: Back-to-back challenges here, it seems. Anyway, I have seen this segment beforehand, wrote the final bit of commentary and know exactly where it all is going, and people are either going to love it or hate it. Writing-wise, it's predictably very good.
DO YOUR DUTY!: #FTK. Seriously, though, a glimpse of what these characters can bring to the table in terms of character work, well done and pretty funny (and, sadly, all too realistic...)
A SLIGHT DETOUR: Giovanni out here telling porkies... The plot thickens.
SAUL & ANGEL VS THE LAW: AKA 'that match I wanted to be better but had to rush due to a shortened deadline', or 'One Massive Cut Corner' for short. I still feel the final outcome does what it needed to, but I wish there had been some in-ring action to speak of.
A RICH PROBLEM: ...they have a point... Anyway, great segment as per usual from these two lads, that does what is needed while also showing their big characters. Good to see The Bro did not get locked in the cupboard after that first outing with Angel, too.
CANCELLED PARTY PLANS: I can't wait to see Alecz face Joe Public or Alf Alferson later on tonight.
BATTLE PLANS: Just a short little snippet setting up some stuff for later.
THE C WORD: Poor Auggie...Danny D is so going to double-cross him.
JOHN J. TRUTH VS THE GREAT WALL: No slurs, guys! See? Anyway, another massively cut corner, but unlike the first match, this one was always going to be a non-starter. Hopefully, people are beginning to see where this is going, too...
THE DUDE PATROL: I had seen a bit of this beforehand, and it's a shame - these guys would have fit fantastically into my...I mean OUR Tag Division.
DRIVE: Another great brawl, and the hottest feud in GLOBAL gets taken up another notch by attempted vehicular manslaughter.
QUEEN B VS ALF: So...Alecz is not fighting Alf, then. The Jester is terrible at rhyming. Non-speaking extra in-jokes ruin the immersion. Alf's streak continues.
NAKED AND AFRAID: ...cavemen now? What a weird show.
CHANCE MEETING: Two old men shoot the shit in a bar, and it's one of the best things about a wrestling-themed show. Go figure.
MALTA VS A RANDOMLY SELECTED RICH; I liked that the story centred around SoM's hunger and need for a win vs Declan's need to honour Freddie - in the latter's case, with a heartbreaking conclusion. I am VERY glad Brian didn't 'kill' the Maltese Cross this early on, after all the hype - so well done. Big win for Malta, but he needs to build from here. Can't wait to see which of the Rich brothers becomes 'the Owen Hart'.
STATE OF THE NATION: Fuck outta here with your favouritism bullshit, Ferrari, you bent old crook. JD has a point - it IS horseshit. GO GET 'IM, JD!!!
TRUTH HURTS: OK, so a slur is hinted at here. Hopefully people are too invested in Principe's predicament to care...
ALECZ: Location SNAFU during Alecz's entrance. Chett Marx, eh? This guy would make a great partner for EZ Rah (or Truth, for that matter.) Anyway, oh my gosh, I am SO surprised at the result. What a powerhouse performance from Alecz. Truly worthy of a title contender. Great promo afterwards, though. *Sigh* What could have been...
MEDICAL UPDATE: Believable segment that would totally happen in an IRL situation like this. Also, JERRY HAS A POINT.
COMATOSE II: SCHIZOPHRENIC BOOGALOO: OH YEAH PIERSON!!! More Manny berating him and CP just sitting there like a bitch taking it. I can't wait until he snaps and kills the voice inside his head.
YET ANOTHER CHALLENGE: So good, it got posted twice. Also, good dodge by the booking team after recent events.
MAIN EVENT: Danny 'ate Joe Public out', huh? I didn't know he...nevermind. Who is Newman? Did Downtown Brown get re-cast? I have never, NOT EVER, liked E Z Rah as much as I did when he interrupted Reyn's entrance and completely shattered his mystique. Really exposed the big fat load of smoke and mirrors this character really is. Actually, speaking of EZ, this is a star-making performance for him, showing a great mixture of grit and ability with his usual over-the-top comedic antics. The rest is a spotfest, as the three remaining men exchange HOLY SHIT moments (with, surprisingly, no double crosses) on their way to a finish which may have been slightly disappointing, but it was the correct one nonetheless. Although, if Reyn is a vampire or a lycan or whatever, shouldn't he just have gotten up from that? Puny vampire! Hulk smash!
CREDITS: So good, they got posted twice as well...
OVERALL THOUGHTS: VERY segment-heavy show, with one too many non-starters (my bad) but which moves things along nicely regardless. Most of the segments don't waste time and do what they need to do, and there's some good build for the main feuds.
TONIGHT'S SUPERSTARS: Crusader X for character growth and EZ Rah for that main event performance.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: Not haemorrhaging handlers would be a start...

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
A LESSON IN REALITY: I knew this segment would happen at some stage with what I’m privy to, though I thought it might occur later on in the timeline. It was well-written in parts, sloppy in others, but overall, it’s a very interesting segment that I’m curious to get other people’s thoughts on. It fits here in a way that it may not in many other places, and I’m not sure how I feel about it as an opener, either. Due to the timeline, I decided to stick with this spot, but overall, an intriguing piece and largely excellently-executed.
PROTECTING THE TRUTH: A terrific title in more ways than one. I thought this was a really, really well-done piece. I understand John is a divisive character so far, and people are entitled to their thoughts on him. I respect that 100%. I am a fan, rightly or wrongly, and have more than an inkling where this is going, so really enjoyed the laying of foundations here. Well-written, as always, and a taste for what’s to come later on in the show. Great.
READY PLAYER ONE: I remember watching the film on a flight. Anyway, that aside, this was a fun segment with a clear purpose to me from the off, given what I’m privy to, but I believe by the end of the segment it was clear to everyone. Trouble Roxx are a team on the up, and to me, a unit who can get on with most other teams (I say MOST) and still go in the ring and have a match with them. Look at their budding relationship with Team United/RAF. These streams are a cracking idea, and in a way, could be a device like the old ‘Piper’s Pit’ and not-so-old ‘Highlight Reel’ segments in which Trouble Roxx stream with characters, asking them questions, and also fielding questions from fans. In other words, an entertaining way to showcase the girls’ personality and help others in their feuds/angles.
WHAT IS NORMAL, ANYWAY: Kudos to Blair on writing as much as he did, and handling a lot of moving parts on behalf of three handlers and four characters. Not an easy task, and he did an excellent job, making it easy for me to work around him. This sets the stage for the match, a dial back to the PPV stipulation between Crusader X and Alfie, which couldn’t be done on 6 due to Button’s participation in the tournament. Of course, he’s A GIT to put it mildly for choosing the people he did, but after the initial shock, Amber appeals to Alfie and Darren, making them see it from a different angle and yet still shows her suspicions of him. So, like I said, a lot going on and there has been from Show 1 with Alfie essentially having 3 different relationships with the other people involved. Crusader X is the star of the segment though, and again, we’re not quite sure what to make of him. Is he a nice guy? Yes or no? Some reckon he’s a top 5 face while others have got him on the heel list. The main thing, for some, is he’s getting a reaction, and we get more of an idea into what he’s angling at, I think, in this segment, though let’s see where we go.
As for the match, I wrote it, but I never quite got going with it and haven’t been as happy with my match writing since the PPV, so I apologise to Blair in advance for not ‘hitting the heights’ I would’ve liked.
GREEN TEA: This advert had to happen, didn’t it? I asked for it, and it was short, sweet and did what I wanted. Don’t know if I’ve used the right adjectives there, but thank you, Scott.
GLOBAL CHALLENGE: Solid Sean Darring goodness, as always. It demands a response from ATG, plays to both characters and what we’ve come to expect from them, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Aleczander reacts. Great world-building from Brian as well, as he refers to a character who I’ve had for years and never really handled, and is a blink-and-you’d-miss-them kind of guy, however did appear on Domination 1, so I want to say thank you and congratulations on that. That attention to detail, willingness to read and check is part of what makes you special. This angle is bubbling nicely and this pushes it in the right direction, and I can’t wait for the SHOVE.
AN OPEN CHALLENGE: I am waiting for some people to talk about how these shouldn’t be placed together, and while I get that argument per se, I have no issues with it (in advance) and happen to like the continuing of the theme. For the record, I really liked this. It was full of wit, charm and attitude, and I now get why Crash asked me who was in the opening tag match. A fine job indeed, showcasing their personality AND laying down an open challenge for the next show. They seem to have quite a few enemies, and they’re not afraid to call any of them out. Well done, sir. Grand.
DO YOUR DUTY: Man, this segment took the piss from start to finish. What a pairing these two could be, Gemini has got a killer catchphrase that’s already massively over and this segment was a lot of fun from a comedic duo that could bring another dimension to the tag team division in what I hope will be a big(ger) arc for the teams. Chris, well done, my man. Very happy for ‘My Chris’ to be the straight man to Gemini’s antics, and in fairness, Gemini has been brilliant to read in both arcs so far.
A SLIGHT DETOUR: Chris did this for me as a favour, so thank you very much for that, so we’d have SOME kind of reference to these two following their grand entrance last week and it keeps that going. How much of a part will they play? Wait and see. Decent segment.
THE LAW V THE ANGEL AND THE JERK: I’m in two minds myself whether to lead off with two tag matches, but again, have decided to stick to it, so any problems with that, it’s on me, and now onto the important matter of the match itself.
Liked the entrances, and more to come on that later in the show.
Firstly, cheers, Pedro. We didn’t even speak much about The Law, but you did a great job of capturing the essence of the team through their actions and the commentators’ reaction. A big thank you and well done from me because it was most definitely on point.
It makes complete sense that even though Strauss and Brady are bigger, again speaking to their character, they’d isolate Angel and do it as quickly as possible. Sound-as-you-like psychology there.
When Angel does get back into it, it plays to her skill set of speed, agility and quick thinking and I, for one, loved the ‘parkour skills’ on display. She comes across as fiery and gritty while battling The Law, great traits for a babyface.
The Fallway Slam – OUCH! Nicely done, though, and it played up Strauss and Angel in one swoop, so excellent stuff once again.
I thought we’d see more of Saul, especially off the back of the promo last week, BUT, and it’s a BIG BUT, AHEM. It made sense for The Law to keep him on the outside, the outcome sets up an obvious rematch in which Saul will definitely play more of a role, I believe, it builds on Angel’s fine first arc and we got Valorie involved, as well. Between the match and what happened in its aftermath, it felt like everyone got a chance to shine.
The commentary was brilliant, as usual, and a soundly-written ‘start-up fight’ full of psychology, which won’t be the best bout in the series, and that’s a good thing. Plenty left in the tank, but an enjoyable affair, nevertheless.
A RICH PROBLEM: They’re doing to The Bro what they did to Tobias Bellamy, guys, and it’s great to see. They kept things ticking over by staying at the beach, and following on from their Fanatics feud, they’ve earmarked The Rich Family as the next rung on the ladder, almost like it’s planned to get them even more attention. The fact that Brian is finding their voice and still pumping out segments that makes them one of the top 2-3 teams in the league speaks volumes for his ability. Again, I loved the attitude of these two guys, and I would personally love to see them in an angle with Trouble Roxx down the road.
CANCELLED PARTY PLANS: Here he is! The response we expected, and you just know he’s not going to face the toughest possible competition, right? Even if he should be! As deluded and delightful ever, this was a good segment and keeps things ticking over nicely, and I got a surprise when he physically put his hands on The Bro and went off on a rant, though in a positive way, for sure. He has got that aggression and nastiness to go with the over-the-top antics.
BATTLE PLANS: A nice continuation of where this is going and AN EXAMPLE of what I saw GLOBAL doing before I opened the place. We know Truth has got something going on, but what and who is he speaking to? Plus, we’re powerless to do anything as viewers and the wrestlers themselves have no idea.
THE C WORD: Risky title! No, not really. I sat back and enjoyed the segment. Out of the two teams in the main event, the much more likely unit to speak, great to see Daniel Dream do his thing on the microphone and Aug be Aug, basically. That’s a whole lot of fun by default.
JOHN J. TRUTH V THE GREAT WALL: Smartly done on Brown’s introduction to show the general disdain shown towards Truth by the fans, and even the employees! Not very professional on Jason’s part, but indicative of how people feel.
Part of me has thought about having signs play more of a role in the show. I haven’t for a few reasons. It worked wonderfully well here.
Pedro, well done on the justification part of keeping John J. Truth around, both in terms of commentary and the beginning of Truth’s promo, which was opened well by HIS catchphrase.
Shae often, and this was seen in our Discord server recently, talks about how certain characters should even revile the commentators, and not be supported ‘just because they’re heels.’ John J. Truth, along with Alex Reyn, are fine examples of that, and I’m happy to see everyone put up a united front in character to tell this guy he’s wrong.
Pedro has referred to Referee Powell in two matches and done a fabulous job in putting the guy over! As for the shenanigans, hey, I’m personally enjoying his crusade because I know he’s going to get punched in the face shortly, regardless of who comes out, which was probably spoiled in the title.
Again, it’s hard at times giving a totally visceral reaction, knowing where certain things are going, but I like how Truth has also subdued TGW with some help. Good on Principe for coming out, and Truth, a little bit like Ted DiBiase for COMPLETELY different reasons, has a tendency to turn people face by default, which is what El Principe and The Great Wall, and Xiang by association, were in the first arc.
GLOBAL Wrestling has…A very satisfying line for multiple reasons.
A segment rather than a match in the end, but one with MULTIPLE faces to it, pun intended, and some downright horrible, loathsome heels for them to overcome.
Handled fantastically.
Doritos: He lives the life, doesn’t he? I imagine he’ll be burnt to a CRISP, by being on the beach for too long? GET IT, EH?
THE DUDE PATROL: It’s a pity this may not be going anywhere as I write this, but it was a fine introductory piece to a team I have A LOT OF TIME for. It’s a shame to miss out, but out of respect to the handler, of which I have a lot, I have decided to leave it on the show and say THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.
DRIVE: Every time these guys sound off, square off…damn, it’s entertaining and personal at the same time. I LOVED THIS. It had humour, drama and I don’t want to undersell it by not writing much, but basically, it was one of the highlights on Domination 7, so thank you, lads.
BIANCA V ALF: What another stellar entrance by Queen B. Brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I also had a rough, not an exact idea, of where everything was going, and Alf Alferson is coming for you, Sean Darring! It keeps things going between The Jester and Bianca.
As an aside: I know that people are going to say we’ve had a few non-matches tonight, and that’s true. On one hand, I’m not exactly thrilled by it myself, but by the same token, I appreciate that people plan angles from the start of the arc, and aren’t always aware of what’s going on elsewhere. What I will say is, better to do it here than on 9 or the PPV itself, and I trust everyone is using these tactics to go somewhere. In fact, I already know they are.
NAKED AND AFRAID: I know where it’s going, it’s a nice little introduction and I am looking forward to the sheer fucking insanity this will bring.
CHANCE MEETING: A lot of fun between two handlers/characters that know one another so well, plenty of chop-busting from both with some in-jokes. This could be left as a nice little standalone segment or develop into something much, much more…
SON OF MALTA V DECLAN RICH: A GREAT intro by Brian, who incorporated a lot of things about one of the other (Face it, some of you like The Rich Family, but it’s Freddie and the rest) members of the stable, and did a marvellous job in bringing up Declan’s potential, as well as tying what this match means to him, a delayed reaction to Freddie’s injury, after attending the party first, you see. He had to.
Nice action in the early going. A hell of a job putting the Maltese Cross over, as well. Shortly after that, the tempo and intensity sure increase.
Wonderful commentary, and you can tell this person appreciates it
LOVELY use of Freddie’s Nightmare and the fans’ reaction to it. Sweet, indeed. And the FALSE FINISH, the real meaning of the word, worked very, very well. Not the first time you’ve done that, my man. I remember the Crusader X v Alfie match at the PPV.
Brilliant finish, admittedly. Yes, you did a superb job, grand master. The right result, put both people over and made Declan stand out – for once.
STATE OF THE NATION: This raises the stakes, and I cannot wait for that PPV match.
TRUTH HURTS: Another sound segment title, and this may get JJT ‘the right kind of heat.’ This was nasty, more in line with what we’ve seen from David and Rah, and shows John isn’t just a mouthpiece. In my mind, this takes things up a notch for all of the ‘hate’ and John has had a hell of a show, whether others agree with me or not, I’m not sure.
RECYCLING ADVERT: YOU’RE WELCOME!
ALECZANDER V CHETT: Yep, TOUGH opposition, all right. However, I LOVED the promo that followed it and it reminded me of Bubba sounding off in that very arena in real life. I could just imagine the heat the crowd would’ve given him…
MEDICAL UPDATE: Amen to that last line.
COMATOSE CONVERSATION 2: I enjoy every single segment that these two are involved in, and well done on the feedback jokes, Chris. Anyone would think they were intentional. Manny is one of my favourite heels in the league, for the record. And Pierson segments always stand out.
MAIN EVENT: Wow. I’m going to say some of the action really was on point, and I fully expect the MOTN to be between SOM/Rich and this, but there were some sloppy things when I originally read it, and I wasn’t a fan of the entrances, which I felt worked far better in Saul and Angel v The Law.
Rather than go back and re-read everything for the third time, and apologies if I missed anything, everyone was given a chance to shine, which was terrific, and there were some HOLY SHIT moments, no doubt about that. The finish is also fine by me, and I’ll take this on the chin, it may be disappointing given that there have been a few ‘cop out’ moments/non-starters/screwy finishes.
Overall, a good/very good match with GREAT spots. As a main event, not as good as last week’s, which is no worries, and a different type of match to 5. Match of the night? In terms of action, yes. In terms of psychology, no.
The show? Some similarities to the second show of the first arc, but ultimately, a better offering. I expect some feedback to call out the matches, as I’ve alluded to myself. Honestly, mixed reactions from me surrounding this show and I challenge you all to raise your game for 8, as you did for 3. We’ve got 2 shows left before the PPV and it feels like we’ve been slow to get out of the blocks in some ways. Again, not the best Domination nor the worst. I don’t give ratings out of 10 for plenty of reasons, but I reckon this was middle-of-the-road and the segments, GENERALLY, outshone the matches.
Onto the next one, and hopefully less drama following 8’s release. Thanks for reading, writing and being here, and have a great cycle ahead of 8.
I’m not done, either. I’ll put some GENERAL thoughts and complaints in here later on.
PROTECTING THE TRUTH: A terrific title in more ways than one. I thought this was a really, really well-done piece.

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
A LESSON IN REALITY: Sean Darring is as fake as this man’s ex-wife! Dream has some deranged fans. Sean Darring hopes this fan gets the help he needs! Here is a man even more deranged than that Daniel Dream fan, Alex Reyn. He is trying to justify his actions; I still call foul! Interesting piece; glad it’s opening and not shoved in somewhere else in the show. Some back story in there, some character story, and I hope this is all building to something that we will see later. The supernatural stuff is strange, so Reyn is Gangrel. This all makes so much more sense now.
NOW YOU'RE IN NEW YORK: Awesome summary for the show, like the classic New York line. I like the tie from previous to this show set the tone for the night. Big fan of these, and it helps set the tone from a fed-head point of view. Helps the reader stay on the same page and prepare for the material that will come ahead.
PROTECTING THE TRUTH: A FTK hint of a mention? Some Border Control? Okay, two reasons I am digging this piece. Now that it’s mentioned, I could see a Truth alliance with FTK!
READY PLAYER ONE: Some more twitch stuff … The Roxx are using GLOBAL to help get them followers and subs… They are the Miro of GLOBAL!
WHAT IS NORMAL, ANYWAY?: Okay, I aint buying it… X is up to no good. But, damn, I am interested and can’t wait to see it. Remember when I said I wanted to see stalker Amber? Now, I want to see Amber unsure who to go with, Alfie or X. The Miss Elizabeth of Macho and Hogan story. Anyway, I am off track here, fantasy booking. It’s a nice setup that gets me interested in the match. Win.
MATCH: CRUSADER X & ALFIE BUTTON VS AMBER LEE & DARREN BEST: Okay, fun characters, fun stories, good ring psychology with spots, and a well-timed schoolboy finish by Crusader X. I enjoyed all of this way more than I would have expected. This is turning out to be a really good story. Well done!
GREEN TEA: Just no… No Green Tea.
GLOBAL CHALLENGE: I wrote this short bit to help set up some future stuff with the story and tried to use some of the backstage npcs to set the tone of the importance of the title challenge. Hope it came across well.
AN OPEN CHALLENGE: Back-to-back similar titles… It happens. Master Sisters lay out a challenge, and the Best of British is the team to answer the call; a dangerous threat was issued - Ball kicking sure is popular in GLOBAL!
DO YOUR DUTY: *runs around marking out throwing arms in the air screaming, F T K!!!!!!!*
A SLIGHT DETOUR: Hopper is still around? Man, that guy must be bored. Giovanni tricks Hopper and Hank. What is going on here?
MATCH: THE LAW VS THE ANGEL & THE JERK: Another short “match” that turns into a brawl. Vitality shows up … and another family jewel shot. Note to all male wrestlers in GLOBAL - wear cups? You now know what happens if you do not.
A RICH PROBLEM: I had to use the final segment celebrating at the hotel to my benefit. Well, here it is. I am not proud of it, though.
CANCELLED PARTY PLANS: I love Aleczander and the collaborative story and working with Seth. Good heal stuff; it feels very much like an old-school WWF back and forth between LSD and Aleczander, which is right in my comfort zone.
BATTLE PLANS: More Truth stuff as he lays out his battle plans. Say what you want about Truth, but there is a story building here, and he isn’t just settling in as another person on the roster. Let’s see where it’s going.
THE C WORD: What a title… Who would have thought Dream and Big Aug had so much chemistry? Set’s up the big tournament match they are going to have.
MATCH: JOHN J TRUTH VS THE GREAT WALL: Okay, I knew something was going to happen, and here is Border Control … I Enjoyed them in SCW! Wall goes down again, and Principe comes out.. Border Control w/ Truth vs Principe and Wall could be a fun match.
THE DUDE PATROL: These guys look like a lot of fun. I know some plans have changed, but I hope we eventually get them in GLOBAL!
DRIVE: The feud that just keeps on giving, oh, and another low blow! GLOBAL is the fed of penis torture, I swear!
MATCH: QUEEN BIANCA DAVIS VS ALF ALFERSON: Hell yeah, the true legend Alf is back to have another epic battle like nobody but Alf can have. Jester shows up … and Alf’s legend continues! Give this man a title shot!
NAKED & AFRAID: Doritos Man has his rival …. The one the only - NAKED MAN!
CHANCE MEETING: It’s that dang Hopper again … And he is chillin with another old has-been. This was a lot of fun writing; Hopper and I have been running these characters since the 90s.
MATCH: SON OF MALTA VS DECLAN RICH: I had a lot of fun writing this. I put over the angle that happened prior and built off Declan in the meantime. I always enjoy writing SOM, so I hope everyone enjoyed it.
STATE OF THE NATION: Ahh, the ol - neither man can lay a hand on each other angle. This is probably a good move, as something must keep these guys from killing each other.
TRUTH HURTS: Truth continues to show up and unleash hell on the foreigners on the roster. It’s been a breakout show for Truth. I hope we see more of this Truth and less of the cheap heat Truth we had the past few shows.
MATCH: ALECZANDER THE GREAT VS ???: The Hall of Famer decimates poor Chett Marx. He then lays into Darring on the mic. Classic Aleczander here that worked really well.
MEDICAL UPDATE: Yes, the response I expected from Jerry David.
COMATOSE CONVERSATION 2: Awesome work as always, and we have grown to now just expect out of Pierson, especially when Manny is involved. I can’t wait until Pierson finally has a legit feud with someone. And Manny!
YET ANOTHER CHALLENGE: I wrote this up for Keegan to help tie things together for the earlier Global Challenge for the next show. I hope it worked well.
MATCH - MAIN EVENT: DANIEL DREAM & AUGUST LAZAR VS ALEX REYN & E Z RAH: No E Z … Even Rah hates Alex Reyn, which is not shocking.. Or maybe after finding out Reyn is a vampire, he wants no part of that. I don’t blame him. Okay, E Z finally comes out, and we have a match - some fun spots what you expect in a main event match like this. It helps the tournament storyline. I still think the show would have been cool with the tournament graphic and more tournament hype, but whatever.
The Good:
- Some stories are starting really take a step. Starting to see the outline of the next PPV.
- Truth had a good show and added Border Control to the mix. I hope we continue to see more Truth like this.
- Some strong segments like Pierson, Aleczander, and Crusader X group.
- Tag Team Division sure is getting a jolt… Border Control, FTK, and the Dudes would have been an epic trio to add over the past few shows.
- E Z - David feud has taken an exciting turn.
Thoughts for Improvement:
- The tournament should be getting the B story. It needs more spotlight. I know it was in the main event spot, but it still felt overshadowed by this show.
- The matches felt like story fodder matches, which isn’t the worst. Just not a lot stood out in the matches.
A solid show - there wasn’t a ton that stood out in this show outside, maybe the Truth stuff which was the most in-your-face stuff on the show. But there was a lot of stuff that just worked. Lots of story work and things that needed to happen to take a step towards the PPV. Every cycle needs shows like this.

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
BEST MATCH: Main Event
BEST SEGMENT: Naked & Afraid
BEST ANGLE: Pierson/Manny
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT: He walks through a door and in the background we see Gemini sitting at a desk. On the computer screen behind him is a scantily clad lady, obviously doing a web cam show for her “fans.” He seems very intent on the show and doesn’t even notice his friend walking in.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: Overuse of exclamation marks, especially in the main event.

BEST MATCH: Main Event - everyone got chance to do something cool and it put over any of them as a credible contender.
BEST SEGMENT: Crash (I can pick this as it was all Scott) Great segment that didn’t retread anything but let the feud move on to bigger things. Cracking job
BEST ANGLE: X/Button/Best/Amber
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT: I am Doritos. You are Doritos. We are Doritos.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: I agree with the general consensus that the show felt like a bit of a placeholder but I think everything is moving along at the right pace. Think a bit more emphasis on the champions wouldn’t go amiss

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
BEST MATCH: Crusader X & Alfie Button Vs. Amber Lee & Darren Best
From both a match-writing and storytelling perspective, this match was the runaway winner.
I'm not sure if anyone else agrees but everything between this match and the main event, while not bad by any means, just couldn't quite live up to the awesome beginning. So everything after the beginning felt like it was struggling to be just as good. I hope that makes sense.
BEST SEGMENT: A LESSON IN REALITY
A shooter wearing a 'Bet on Dream, Bet on America', literally such a great and interesting idea.
BEST ANGLE: Anything with John J. Truth was pitching a perfect game/perfect from the field, any sports metaphor that you want to use.
If you've seen the meme where the devil is complimenting the guy like "Well, I just wanna say that I'm a big fan of your work"
The devil is Daniel Dream and the guy is Truth. I'm just a big fan of his heel work.
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT:
"Daniel Dream in his Carnivore persona ate Joe Public out"
Uh, phrasing.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
I feel like certain things could use a re-read such as "But Daniel springs onto the top rope with Dream!"
But otherwise, nothing that is a major complaint.
Although I agree, I noticed the entrances have been copy-pasted for a few shows now which while isn't a big deal, makes a bit awkward reading.

Although I agree, I noticed the entrances have been copy-pasted for a few shows now which while isn't a big deal, makes a bit awkward reading.
Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
Thanks, guys. Great feedback.
Can't disagree with much and agree on the entrances.

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
TL;DR version.
Full feedback now complete on the first reply of this thread.
BEST MATCH: With not much to choose from, the Main was the obvious standout, though the opener came VERY close to stealing the show.
BEST SEGMENT: For writing, the opener. For what it accomplishes, toss up between Drive and the X/Amber/Alfie/Darren one. Also, #FTK!!
BEST ANGLE: Rah vs JD continues to be on fire. Alecz had a good heel showing this time out, too - we're going to miss him. I am stoked people like Truth's arc this show, as I was hyped for it.
BEST LINE OF THE NIGHT: There were a few good ones, none stood out in particular. Maybe the woo-woo vampire talk in the first segment?
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: See full feedback.

Re: DOMINATION [07] - FEEDBACK THREAD
Some other things,,,
If you're thinking about writing a segment that happened before the episode of Domination in question, consider requesting an earlier slot if the timeline is an issue to you.
Guilty of this myself, but let's mix the entrances up a little from time to time. Also, when ripping an entrance from a previous show, make sure you edit out the previous venue. The Miami Beach Convention Center is not in New York City.
In addition to the previous statement, entrances are important - to an extent. If you're Joe Public, you're in the ring like a lamb to the slaughter. If you're in the main event, barring an EXCEPTIONAL reason, you're coming out with the cake and cherry on top. ALWAYS remember: This is a wrestling company based in HOLLYWOOD, RUN BY A HOLLYWOOD STUDIO. That part feels lost on people at times.
I don't know if this is because I'm now the boss here, another point lost on people at times and maybe that's my own doing, while I'm not a stickler for standardization (this spelling is intentional, as you're about to see) we're a US company based in the US, and the British English spellers of us out there run American characters yet use the UK spelling. Now, it's not the biggest thing in the world, but irrespective of whether I prefer British English or not, the standard here (and I should have said it before, but let's SPELL IT OUT HERE) is US English. Characters like The United Kingdom, EZ, Alfie and Aleczander The Great until recently, yes, by all means use UK slang. However, the narrative voice default is US English. Consider that in your writing. I edit it anyway, but for future reference, please.
On Discord, come and talk to me. Please don't talk at me. I'm starting to get sick of that, and let's have a better Show 8 because the fed needs it, and I do too, quite frankly because I'm not happy this cycle at all.
